Scamps was started in 2001, in the humble origins of a converted garage, as time progressed and its popularity grew it re-located to Benson Youth Hall, as Scamps continued to grow and within a short period of time the search for a prime location within Benson started.
After searching for many months - 'Lowfield House' came onto the market. It was in an ideal and safe location in providing a haven for the children, and had the most amazing garden for the children to play in.
Lowfield House was purchased in February 2003 and the day nursery opened in late February 2003. In September 2003 the after school club transferred from the Youth hall to Lowfield House to create a unique "home from home" environment.
Scamps is recognised for its excellent childcare provision by both parents and the local authorities.
Our overriding childcare philosophy is to provide a warm, safe and happy environment, and one in which each child receives stimulation correctly levelled at his/her own particular age and stage of development.
We believe that the learning of new concepts proceeds much more effectively when children feel happy and secure, and so to this end we combine the very best elements of current learning philosophy, using OFSTED recommendations as our guideline.
Scamps is open throughout the year excluding Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.
